PITCH:

When AASECT Certified Sex Therapist Theresa Guerrero put down the whip and picked up the notepad, she thought she’d called the safe word on her BDSM past. 

After a move from Portland to a nearby suburb Dr. Theresa Guerrero is living a somewhat quieter life. Giving up a more than 20 year long commitment to BDSM and officially releasing all her “slaves” she started “sex.com” to offer another type of therapeutic “expertise”;  online therapy for couples specializing in sex analysis. Signing on each day for her sessions, she can’t help but relate her clients issues back to experiences she had during her “ceremonies” from her past. Their stories and struggles remind her constantly of lessons she’s learned from being a dom, and we relive them with her in flashback.

A few years into her new life, Theresa is feeling ready for a partner that might stick around for more than just sex. But what she’s looking for now isn’t anything like what she’s used to, and navigating the online dating morass keeps leaving her totally baffled, and more than a little frustrated (in all the ways). Throughout it all, she flashes back to embarrassing (and enlightening) moments from her sexual past. 

Along with former submissive Delroy Edwards, her somewhat unlikely stay-at-home-mom new best friend Lauren Hope, and her gardener Martin Parks, Theresa Guerrero has her work cut out for her as she holds it all together and maneuvers the straight life in a small town (not that size has anything to do with it).

THREE EPISODE ARC

ep1) MOMMY’S HOME:

A PLOT:

After Theresa’s father dies of a heart attack her Mother comes to live with her. Charmingly passive-aggressive, the older Guerrero has never fully understood her daughter’s lifestyle choices, but with the death of her head of the household husband (and somewhat overbearing father) she has a seemingly new found interest and pride in the strength of Theresa’s character. Clearly liberated, she takes advantage of Delroy’s submission to cultivate some much needed heat, and listens in on a client session with obvious delight. After a week of unlikely bonding between the two, Theresa’s mother surprises her by buying a renovated Airstream and declaring her love for her new found mistress “The Road” before taking off to tour the country single and newly empowered.

FLASHBACKS:

• After hearing of her father’s cause of death, we see a montage of times when he told Theresa she was going to “give him a heart attack”; she’s very young and he catches her as she almost rides her bike into the street, she’s a teen and terrifyingly learning to drive with him in the passenger seat, she’s getting her nose pierced in her room and he walks in, she’s home from college with her very goth boyfriend, he’s standing with her mom in front of a piece of explicit artwork as the older Theresa takes them on a tour of her racy household.

• Mother Guerrero reminds Theresa about “Papi’s switch”. We see a young Theresa throwing peaches in the yard, and breaking a window in the house. Papi comes out and narrates her punishment as he cuts down a switch from a tree. Instead of fear, we see a twinkle of delight in her eyes. 

• During her listening in on one of Theresa’s sessions Mother Guerrero remembers a moment from the 80’s, wherein she got particularly turned on during an episode of Guiding Light and masturbated in the bathroom before being interrupted by a knock and a cry for “Mom!”

B PLOT:

Eli’s frustrated by John’s lack of experimentation. At Theresa’s urging the two “try something interesting”. During their next session John has a clearly visible injury due to their attempt. Theresa suggests that the couple embrace the suffering and try to work it into their carnal dictionary. In their next session John is even further injured but the two are bubbly with excitement over the change that this fresh new approach has had on their chemistry.

FLASHBACKS:

• While talking with Lauryn about her mother coming into town, and how infantilized she feels by her, Theresa flashes back to a her very bored expression while holding a fully grown man dressed as a baby.

• After seeing John’s injury Theresa flashes back to a her in a tastefully decorated “doctors” office “operating” on a patient carefully when suddenly we see a spurt of blood and a yelp of pain and her surprised look. 

C PLOT:

Delroy is conflicted by his interaction with Theresa’s mother. He seeks solace and affirmation from Lauryn despite his jealousy of her friendship with Theresa.

FLASHBACKS:

• During Mother Guerrero’s seduction of Delroy, he flashes back to the first time he met her almost 20 years before. Newly in a young Theresa’s “charge”, he opened her door to discover her Mother had come to town for a surprise visit. After immediately assessing the situation and passively asserting her authority over him, we see him in a series of moments responding to her call “Delroy come!”.

ep2) TESTICLE ISSUES:

A PLOT:

Theresa finds that Greg14 has hacked her servers, and taken control of her video feed. In desperation she calls upon the services of a technical wiz/former BDSM friend to whom Theresa formally served before transitioning to a dominant role. 

FLASHBACKS:

• Theresa as a younger “slave” who can’t help herself from asserting control during a bondage tie-up situation. It ends with her master being the one tied up, Theresa looking on sheepishly.

B PLOT:

Lauryn is contemplating going back to work. She takes Theresa’s advice to be authoritative in her interview literally and we see her transform herself into a domineering woman so convincing she inadvertently ends up attracting the interest of her potential boss. She’s so thrilled by this experience that it enhances her current marriage for a time. 

FLASHBACKS:

• While schooling Lauryn, Theresa remembers a moment from the past, wherein she literally changed the mind of a bank official to receive a better offer by utilizing her disciplinarian skills.

• Lauryn imagines herself as a full-blown windswept conqueror, towering over a mountain of withered bank employees as she is adored and worshipped by her husband/bosses/children/etc,.

C PLOT:

After the server troubles caused by a meddling Greg14, Theresa’s video streaming capabilities are temporarily disrupted. She assures Carlos and Amelia she is still available via phone by text and facetime for their weekly session. Regarding a conversation about paying attention to their partners less attractive pleasure zones she receives some pertinent images via text, and later while scrolling through reference images for border plants while arguing with Martin she unwittingly ends on said photo further igniting the frustratingly irritating sexual tension between the two. 

FLASHBACKS:

• Theresa imagines Martin and herself in a compromising situation, but with she herself asking for more as he is reiterating NO.

ep3) CHECK PLEASE:

A PLOT:

After fumbling through another new online dating app Theresa accepts a date with an older man. He turns out to be much older. Theresa stays open to the possibility but after declining his invitation to accompany her home, realizes he was only fishing for sex.

FLASHBACKS:

• As she “swipes left” she remembers a series of encounters with submissives begging for her to take them on as slaves and her saying no; a montage of her everywhere from the front door at her apartment, a laundromat, an orgy, a movie theatre, a public bathroom (just a voice from the next stall).

• Theresa remembers a session where an extremely frail older man begged that she manhandle him, she finally relents and “pushes” him to the ground with all the care that a mother would lay an infant down. He is completely satisfied.

B PLOT:

Mary and Anton are heated in their session after an accidental run in with her ex lover. Theresa suggests (again) to them to appropriate the affair into their lovemaking. She implies that there might be some closure to be found if they can perhaps reenact a fictional situation wherein Anton “catches” Mary in the act. We see them again next session sheepishly admitting to having received some satisfaction in the ploy.

FLASHBACKS:

• Theresa as a child too young to really understand at the table with her mother. Her mother implies she caught her father doing something “feo”. She lectures her on how to properly- and passive aggressively-punish someone. She reminds her to remember never to lie, but if she does, just never get caught.

C PLOT:

In her growing frustration at being unable to manifest what she wants partner-wise, Theresa has started to order Delroy around a la their previous relationship. He finds himself at odds with the situation, and brings up to her how happy he is to be treated poorly by her, but how horribly he suffers knowing she’s falling into old habits that ultimately (he knows) she wanted to leave behind. He gives her an ultimatum that he doesn’t feel like he can continue to be her slave unless she stops acting like he is her slave.

FLASHBACKS:

• When Delroy stands up for his mistress (to his mistress) she flashes back to their first encounter at a party. He was awkwardly emboying a caricature of a BDSM enthusiast and standing by himself with a party cup of white wine. Theresa immediately softened to him even more when her friend mentioned that “no one wants him”.
